Great news for the all Belgian Beer Lovers. On Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 februari 2012, The Bruges Autonomous Beertasters will organise, in co-operation with the municipality of Bruges, the 5th Bruges Beer Festival 2012. 67 breweries and beer firms will present about 278 beers on the festival. Apart from 6 Trappist breweries and some artisanal Gueuze blenders and brewers, you will encounter the best from Belgian’s Beer landscape.
This will give you the chance to choose between more than 270 different beers from 67 breweries. Mostly, the brewer will be present at his stand, so perfect to ask questions and remarks. The objective is to take the glas with you during the visit to the beer festival. At every stand, one can give their glass, which will be cleaned and filled with the desired beer. One beer = one token. The glass can be taken home as a souvenir, or can be returned at the infostand for our theme ‘good purpose’ : BAB vzw. gives a free meal to the poor people of Poverello + money to school ‘De Varens’ to give children with no money a few good days during the year (click on ‘hot news’ for details). You can also help our charity works by returning your BAB-glass.
Apart from beer tasting, different side activities are organized:
- Cuisine Culinair with 8 topchefs (4 each day) who will cook gastronomic with beer; everybody can follow the cookdemonstrations live on the festival => 4 chefs on Saturday afternoon, 4 on Sunday afternoon! A special devision on our beerfestival!
- Our main BAB restaurant with delicious plates during the whole weekend! Small plates = 6 tokens, big plates = 9 tokens.
- Outer terrace at the innercourt of the Belfry (unique!).
- Carillon concerts
- Beer-recitations with on regular points of time an interactive debate, and this with prominent people from the beer world.
